The problem with switching strategies - why you still loose money

I talked to a guy recently. A guy, who's been loosing money trading for over 7 years. Can you imagine this? 7 years of loosing money. But he's not giving up. He found a new strategy when the old one failed. So I asked him:
Ok, so why was your old strategy bad?

And he replied:
Well, because i started loosing money.

It was his only response. And the only argument for 'bad strategy'. He did likewise several times... Here's the thing - every strategy and every method is going to loose money at so…

SFXTrader was enhanced by new and great feature!

Dear Traders!
SFXTrader was enhanced by new and great feature! New feature is called ‘Chart Trader’. It allows sending market and limit orders directly from the chart. It preserves the ability of precise definition of the risk but a trader does not have to fill in any forms. The SL and TP are defined by two clicks on the chart.
How to send market order?
  1. On the chart widget press “Market” button.

DAY 15 - RISK MANAGEMENT IS KEY

Markets are ultimately driven by order flow. Even assuming it's possible to know exactly what orders are currently in place, and at what levels (the 'order book', there are always more orders about to be added that traders have no knowledge of. These orders are created by a host of different factors, that are too diverse, complex and abstract (e.g. sentiment) to be calculated precisely.
I recall reading a good anecdote in a Mark Douglas book, that went something like this: A capable analyst wh

DAY 19 - RISK MANAGEMENT

Risk Management - Amateur Traders vs Professional Traders
Amateur Traders don't give much importance to risk management. Many of amateur traders are under capitalized, as such they use excessive leverage to achieve their goals resulting in taking higher risk than normal. Majority of them don't place their stop loss beyond a technical price barrier, but use some arbitrary stop-loss, which price doesn't respect very often. They give too much emphasis to an individual trade rather than a series of…

I worry about risk management here otherwise I have a couple of orders on in different contests targeting top slot. So sometimes its not about risk management its about travelling fast. In fact it turns out to be slow at times.

New Month, New Goal

Last month was a month with mixed results for me as I wasn't trading on my full capacity. After every winner trade I made a losing trade and as you may guess my account couldn't grow. The only positive thing is the fact that I was still able to keep the account in positive territory $130K.
Starting from this year I've posted at beginning of each month my GOALS, for the current month and I want to track my own progress and how I grow up my experience in the markets.
This is the only way you can p…

New Month, New Goals

Starting from this year I've posted at beginning of each month my GOALS for the current month and I want to track my own progress and how I grow up my experience in the markets.
This is the only way you can prove yourself that you're growing up as a trader by tracking down all your performances and your discipline to follow your plan.
Last month I was closed to be in top 10 again but due to last 2 weeks market condition I wasn't able to secure a winning place but the only progress I've made was …
