It's so hard to choose. I read and finish a novell about every 3 or 4 days. I can read quite fast. When I was in High school and middle school I read even more than I do now. I often started a book after school and didn't stop reading until I finished it which was usually late at night or in the early morning. I went through periods like that.

I discovered the magic of books and escapism when I was 8. That's when I started reading novels as opposed to short books for kids that have little to no plot or character development. Once I got into real books, I just had to keep going.

Reading was an escape for me, it wasn't about entertainment as much as being able to escape and live. I grew up in a very sad and hard situation and books allowed me to cope.

Since I was looking to escape I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction. Nothing's changed really. I still choose books that transport you into another world or reality and have interesting characters that allow me to really get into the book and almost become them. I really think that I have a really good and vivid imagination because I read these kinds of books. They might have made me more creative as well.

When I was 12 I read Bram Stoker's "Dracula" and became obsessed with vampires. When I was 13 I found "The Vampire Diaries" by L.J. Smith. The original series was published in the 90's and 3 or 4 years ago was re-released with the t.v. show. The t.v. show is a little different than the books.

Here is the original book cover of the first book which I own. These books just were a really really good escape from my reality and my friends also read the series and so we could talk about it and I was ln love with Stephan but in the t.v. show Ian Somerhalder is so cute. Also, he's a cat person and fights for the environment and seems like a great guy.

Other than reading sci-fi and fantasy I often read new agey books. I've read a bunch by Sulvia Browne and Doreen Virtrue and I've read a lot of Paulo Coelho but found "the alchemist" to be his best work. Well I like that one the best.

I read "zero limits" and really hated it. this is coming from someone with a very traumatic past. What I found helpful instead is EMDR therapy. I actually emailed the author after reading the book about my concerns. I feel this book could atcually be harmful to people with certain problems but he never replied. The book doesn't specify for whom it's written for. It seems to say that this "therapy" can work for everyone and heal all types of mental trauma. I don't believe that at all. Sorry, had to get that out.
