Hello Community.
Have you ever heard about the first color photos? How did they appear? What was the method of receiving the color? No? I am gonna tell you than!))))))
So, the first method of doing pictures in colors is called Autochrome and was invented in 1907 by Lumiere brothers. The main ingredient which was used to get a color was potato starch! Can you imagine???!!!
So, in fact, it was a glass plate covered with a thin wash of tiny potato starch grains dyed red, green and blue and it was working as a filter. After all this plate was covered with a special emulsion. As soon as the plate was exposed to light the resulting image could be developed into a transparency. Of course the process was long and complicated but still the blurs had an unusual effect as together with soft, dyed colors it made the picture look like a painting. Cool, no? Besides, it was a good alternative to black and white photos as well. There are some old pictures made with this technique:

Look how quickly wold is moving ahead. Hovewer, I am always interesting what was the begining.)))))) I believe it is good to know the history of the things you like! What do you think?
With love J. xoxo
