The summer months are the most difficult to trade, i noticed that it starts with making good trades and increasing the equity then all of a sudden, you start losing it and even end up losing more of your capital.
So i decided to look for answer to the questions bothering me, why am i losing more these days, maybe my strategy is not working anymore, well i figured out that in the summer months, you are better off not trading or just trade ranges, most trend strategy will fail because there is not even volatility to move the trend.
I have noticed this same problem with some traders here, most of the good traders are losing more starting from the ending of May, many of them are trend traders and their achilles heel is leverage.
To make huge equity many of over leverage but once you lose those three consecutive trades, you have broken your horse back and have to fight an uphill battle. I cannot wait for september when i believe the holiday mood will be over and we can have more volatility.
Oh, the months i plan to avoid in the future with my real account are June, July and August; i think if you can make at least 30% monthly for and 8 months and avoid trading for 4 months of June, July, August Mid December to Mid January. Then with good money management you can have a successful trading business.
