We always start the month with great enthusiasm, but after the first week we get the first disappointments and these are hard that we condition throughout the month.I am a very positive person and I think that these errors are necessary in our learning to become a professional trader.
And long time ago that I was aware of that which separates us from the success is discipline, that although we have a good trading system are unable to be disciplined for that do not control our emotions, about what I have learned these years above conquer the discipline through control of the emotions I wrote an article that you can read here.
This as almost everything in life is very easy in theory but put it in practice it is very difficult, and we are not able to recognize that when we spend our trading accounts is that we have done badly, have not been disciplined, have fallen into the temptations of our emotions.It is common to hear traders say I lost my account why dollar ,euro or yen does a motion that no one expected or any other excuse impossible, no man/woman !!!! .....your lost your account that does not have not respected your system or that your monetary management is dreadful.Why not you have controlled your emotions.
Without going too far, I this week thought that the euro would drop and I dedicated myself to sell euro,risking too and ignoring signs of my system that I said that buy euro, that I had the emotional need for reason, and the market hit me a punch and has taken me half of my trading account.Who is to blame?, (course that Draghi! ja ja ja), jokes aside, the blame is mine, I can't not blame to Draghi, the market, the broker or Merkel,I have to admit that it is my fault and learn from the mistake to improve, this time there is no problem is a demo-account, but if it had been real money surely would have lost all the account by the despair of seeing how I was losing my money.
This is my humble opinion,each have our opinion and I think I can help someone sharing what I've learned during these years over control of the emotions to conquer the discipline, which for me is 70% of success in trading.
