Scientists from the California Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute were the first to catch on video an adult rare ghost shark, also known as a chimera. Typically, scientists caught a fish fry and juveniles. The video was shot a few years ago with the help of underwater vehicle in the deep ocean not far from California. According to the National Geograrhis, after the unit under water scientists, geologists did not set out to search for rare species of fish. Shark met by chance. And only when the experts several times carefully studied the video, they confirmed that on the video was really deep blue shark-chimera (Hydrolagus trolli). Also, as the researchers note, this is the first case of meeting with this kind of in the northern hemisphere.
