Reusable Code for Visual JForex Beginners

Being a newbie in JForex, I have put together some functions that I find helpful and reusable in strategy building in Visual JForex. I have written an article explaining their functions and how to use them.
Current functions include:-
  • ATR to Pips
  • The Excel functions MAX and MIN

Connectivity Problems with JForex Behind a Firewall

I just spent the better part of my weekend troubleshooting why JForex couldn’t connect to Dukascopy servers from behind Sophos UTM9 (firewall) after doing an upgrade on Friday.
I was able to access dukascopy.com, but JForex could not connect, I thought JForex ran on port 443 (HTTPS) but I was wrong. It turns out JForex uses TCP port 10443 to access Dukascopy servers.

GREAT !!!!  that is wonderful .......  that works with DEMO accounts !!!!
It does not work with REAL accounts ........  in order for a REAL account to work with an API you need a STATIC IP address ....... Just a word of caution !!!

Sorry, I didn’t explain well. The internal IP (10.255.1.3) has no “direct” access to the Internet, as with all other devices on my home network, they all undergo NAT (Network Address Translation) meaning the public (Internet) only sees my ISP assigned static IP.

REAL account will not work , sorry to say ........  the internal IP also required to be static !!!!!
I know what you are saying, I been through it, I am currently working with REAL as well DEMO ......  simultaneously.

there are other issues beside the Internal IP that you need to take care of, you need to change the setup of the account !!!
