I think people, who study foreign languages, are dreamers and travelers in the soul, and for them it is especially important to visit the country of studied language. And I am no exception. And when there appeared the opportunity to go to France as an interpreter, accompanying the group of children, I was pleasantly excited because it was my first professional experience and I was looking forward to the upcoming language practice.
My main goal was to help children and families find contact with each other . And the visits to families allowed to monitor living conditions of children, their psychological state and health status. In addition to the valuable language practice, I had an amazing opportunity to get acquainted with France and its culture. Arras, where the traineeship took place, is situated is the main town of the Department of Pas-de-Calais. Arras is a small town which is imbued with the spirit of France, and, arriving there, you will understand what the country was like in the Middle Ages, what it experienced during the war and how France looks like in our days. Arras with its beautiful ancient center is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns of Northern France, and I totally agree with that. Walking around this city is a true pleasure. It seems that you can endlessly wander through these small but very cozy streets, admire the architecture, breathing in the smell of fresh pastries, which enveloped the city. But I was surprised not even by the city itself, but by the people in it. Wherever you go, you'll be greeted with a smile. The French are distinguished by courtesy, and respect and tolerance for people is a hallmark of their mentality. And the French as well as the Belarusians, the Russians know how to forget troubles, to enjoy life, to joke and to have fun.

France is an incredibly multifaceted country, and for me it revealed in all its beauty: told me its history, acquainted with interesting people and treated with delicious food. And, without any doubts, this experience, this linguistic practice will remain in my memory forever and the photos will warm my heart for a long time.
